Welcome to OOTO
OOTO stands for Out Of The Office, and it's the name I chose for this project because it captures exactly what I'm about: doing real engineering work outside the constraints of traditional corporate environments.
I've been a software engineer for years. I've worked in startups, large companies, and on my own projects. Along the way, I noticed something: the most interesting, fulfilling, and educational engineering I've done has been when I stepped away from someone else's roadmap and built things on my own terms.
What this is
OOTO is a YouTube channel and this companion website where I talk about the technical topics that interest me. Right now, that includes:
- Cloud development — Real AWS, GCP, and serverless work. Not slides, not theory. Actual infrastructure you can deploy.
- AI-assisted solo development — How AI tools are changing what a single developer can build. I use these tools every day and I share what works.
- Tech certifications — Honest guidance on studying for and passing cloud and infrastructure certs.
- Career guidance — What I wish someone told me when I was starting out. No gatekeeping.
What this is not
This isn't a corporate content marketing play. There's no marketing team behind this, no brand guidelines document, no content calendar approved by a VP. It's just me talking about what I find interesting and useful in software engineering.
You won't find "10 reasons to adopt microservices" listicles or sponsored content here. What you will find is honest, practical content from someone actively building things.
Why a website too?
Some content works better written down. Code snippets, resource lists, study guides, extended explanations — these are things that are easier to reference when they're on a page you can bookmark. This site supplements the YouTube channel with that kind of content.
I'm also building a newsletter for people who want updates without having to check YouTube. If that sounds useful, sign up below.
Let's go
If you're an engineer who thinks independently, builds your own projects, or just wants to learn from someone who doesn't talk down to you — welcome. You're in the right place.
Check out the YouTube channel, explore the topics, or subscribe to the newsletter to stay in the loop.
